Overdraft Privilege - NEW!
American Bank is pleased to offer Overdraft Privilege for all eligible consumer checking accounts. With Overdraft Privilege, if you overdraw your checking account, American Bank may cover your shortfall up to $500.00 instead of returning items unpaid. This means if you ever make an error on your account balance and overspend by mistake, Overdraft Privilege may save you the inconvenience of having an item returned unpaid, as well as the merchant fees.

Benefits of Overdraft Privilege
- It’s confidential and gives you an extra level of protection against unanticipated cash flow emergencies and account reconciliation errors
- You do not need to do anything to activate this service
- If you don’t use it, it won’t cost you anything

Your Overdraft Privilege will be available for checks, in-person withdrawals, ACH transactions, preauthorized automatic transfers, internet banking and telephone banking. However, we’ll need your consent to authorize Overdraft Privilege for ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
